Carla Bauer, LMSW received her MSW from the University of Georgia and is currently a candidate in psychoanalytic training at Emory University. She holds prior masters degrees in theological studies and business administration and brings 20 years of corporate experience to her work with clients. She completed clinical internships working with diverse individuals and groups dealing with a variety of life struggles. Carla works from a psychodynamic orientation, drawing on attachment theory, object relations, and contemporary relational models of psychotherapy, to work with the deep long-term wounds and patterns that help shape clients’ self-perceptions and current experiences and struggles. She enjoys working with life transition and identity issues, including divorce, mid-life crises, and older adult life review, as well as relationship struggles, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and the general search for meaning. Carla strives to create an open and safe environment where clients can express and explore authentic feelings and lost aspects of self often censored in general society, toward greater personal insight, growth and change. She believes that an accepting and validating therapy relationship can be a key element to the healing of old wounds and opening up possibilities for new and better experiences.

Ursula Chapman, MS, LAPC, received her Masters in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University, and is very pleased to be completing her post-graduate residency with Metropolitan Counseling. Her clinical experience includes individual, family, and group therapy in an outpatient recovery center. She enjoys working from a strengths-based approach, helping clients to realize their unique gifts and advantages. Her goal is to create a comfortable and safe space for clients to explore and better understand themselves and their surroundings. Ursula is particularly interested in issues of self-esteem and personal engagement, and how these areas affect levels of anxiety, stress, and depression. She finds that learning how to comfortably build and maintain a strong sense of self, and to authentically engage in meaningful relationships, can bring about wholeness and fulfillment in one’s day to day life. She looks forward to working with clients at the center, and welcomes queries or concerns.
