<p>Karla Daniels serves as Executive Director of Metropolitan Counseling Services. Her duties include fundraising, event planning and grant writing activities to support the mission and goals of the organization. She provides strategic planning and vision to further the organization’s impact on addressing the mental health needs of the community. For the past 12 years she has established a career in the development field and has worked at CARE USA, Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and the Diabetes Association of Atlanta. She is a graduate of Emory University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in English. She also attended Emory’s Teacher Preparation Program for Secondary Education where she student taught at Cross Keys High School and Shiloh Middle School. Karla has worked in Sales and Marketing for KPMG, United Health Care, and Resurgent’s Risk Management.</p>

<p>Kathy Steele, MN, CS is a psychotherapist with 25 years of experience. In addition to her role as Clinical Director and Supervisor at Metropolitan Counseling Services, she is also in private practice with Metropolitan Psychotherapy Associates, specializing in chronic traumatization, dissociative disorders, and attachment issues. Kathy is currently President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and is a Fellow of that organization. She has received several international awards for her clinical work and publications, and frequently teaches about trauma and dissociation internationally. Her award-winning book, The Haunted Self: Structural Dissociation of the Personality and Treatment of Chronic Traumatization (Norton, 2006) with co-authors Onno van der Hart and Ellert Nijenhuis, is part of the Norton Series on Interpersonal Neurobiology.</p>

<p>Jennifer Frank Smith, MA, LPC is the Administrative Director at Metropolitan Counseling Services. She is also a psychotherapist in private practice and has specialized interest in trauma recovery and the treatment of anxiety and depression.  Jennifer received her Master&#8217;s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. She has worked in hospitals, schools, private practice settings, and mental health centers, providing  assessments, group counseling, psycho-education and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She completed her post-graduate residency at MCS in 2008, specializing in trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, dissociation, and attachment.</p>

<p>Lisa Angert Morris, MS, LPC, CGP is a Clinical Supervisor and the Chief Financial Officer for MCS. She has continuously been part of nonprofit mental health agencies in Atlanta since beginning her clinical internship at The Link Counseling Center in 1986. As program director for a group therapy program for survivors of trauma at the Georgia Council on Child Abuse (now Prevent Child Abuse Georgia), and as a staff psychotherapist at The Hub Counseling and Education Center, Lisa gained experience in program development, management, fiscal oversight and many other aspects of nonprofit administration. Lisa enjoys combining these interests with her clinical background in her work at MCS. She has been involved with MCS since 1996 and has helped dozens of psychotherapists attain licensure through training, consultation and supervision. Lisa helped the center obtain 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and writes grants promoting MCS&#8217; mission of providing affordable psychotherapy to adults. Lisa served on the Board of Directors of MCS from 2003-2005. She received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and her graduate degree from Georgia State University. In addition to working with MCS, Lisa is in private practice as a partner at Metropolitan Psychotherapy Associates. Steve also works extensively with addiction and recovery, couples and families, and survivors of childhood trauma.  He has written, lectured, and conducted workshops in these areas. His interests also include helping people address compulsion and freedom in the areas of sex, work, relationship, and spirituality. Steve is a certified group psychotherapist and has completed the three-year training course in Pesso-Boyden System Psychomotor Therapy.</p>
